Spiderman done with digital ink and basic colors.

Have to say, I like this method since you do not have to clean pencils and use the curves, nor the rulers, but I need more practice.

Used Manga Studio program and painted in photoshop

I use Manga Studio too. The inking tool is awesome. So why did you go back to Photoshop for colors rather than sticking with Manga Studio?

Here's an example of something colored using only Manga Studio - [link]

Somehow when I change the colors for any of the tools they revert to the original color,
I could not find a tutorial on it and the controls, and layers have functions I can't seem to control.
Any tips?

Assuming you're using MS Debut 4 or Ex 4....When you're limited to one color, and functions that don't seem to work, it may be because you're working in a Black and White layer or 2 color layer rather than a full color layer.

When starting an entirely new page, a window pops up where you can set the dimensions. Make sure you set the page for COLOR here.

This next step you may or may not have to do. In the "Layers" palette double-click on the "new layer" icon at the top of the palette to create a new layer. A window should open up called "Layers Property". Pick the full color option.

Hope this helps. If not, let me know.

It helps, I did not notice the layer types, now is there a way to see the size of your brush while you are working like in photoshop?
It makes it hard to see the line andusing the short cuts "[" and "]" to resize your brush with only the "+" showing.

Abusing your knowledge, what do you use the raster layer for?

To see the size of the brush, double click (or right click) on the chosen tool and a window should open up with options for that brush. But I think after a certain size, it just shows the same big dot even though the brush size is increasing.

Certain tools will only work in the Raster layer and not Vector. If you sketch straight into your computer, the Pencil tool is not suppose to be able to work in a Vector layer.

Same with the Fill Bucket if you're going to fill a large area with color. Works in Raster but not Vector.

I think the Pattern Brush also only works in a Raster layer.
